Marwell Mini Golf

Permission was secured for the Adventure Golf Course at Marwell Resort in the South Downs National Park. The design concept of the mini golf course is based on cultural references specific to the Activity Centre site and to key landmark sites in the National Park and surrounding area including Marwell Zoo, Butser Ancient Farm huts, the former WWII airfield use of the site at Marwell, Clayton Windmill, Firle Tower, Bramber Castle, Beacon Hill and Ouse Valley viaduct.

Officers considered the proposals would successfully integrate with the surroundings, with no material landscape impact, and maximise multiple priority Eco-System Services benefits to enhance the environmental quality and cultural heritage of the site, whilst creating additional opportunities for visitors to engage with the National Park which is in accordance with its statutory purposes and contributing to its duty to foster the economic and social well being of local communities.
